THE 60-SECOND BRIEF

Four dates shape Amazon selling this month. The $1 million liability insurance rule for enhanced-safety categories takes effect November 2. Selected brand owners have until November 10 to review the virtual multipacks Amazon created for them before those go on sale November 11. FBA holiday peak fees, plus a separate 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge, apply through January 14, 2027. Prepaid return labels become mandatory on most US seller-fulfilled returns on December 18. Also this month: a new 3D Printers referral fee category, Amazon's paid Review Requests ads, and Seller Assistant inside outside AI tools.

Most Amazon seller news tells you what changed. This page tells you what to do about it. We update it on the first Monday of every month, with the newest changes at the top, and link every story to Amazon's own announcement so you can check the details yourself.

WHAT CHANGED Starting November 2, 2026, sellers with products in categories that have enhanced safety listing requirements must hold commercial liability insurance covering those products. The policy needs at least USD 1 million per occurrence and in aggregate, whether or not the seller reaches the USD 10,000 monthly gross proceeds threshold. Affected categories include children's products, cosmetics, ingestibles and lithium battery products, and the rule covers existing listings as well as new ones.
WHO IT AFFECTS Low-volume sellers who never needed coverage before. Sellers based in mainland China have an extra rule: from November 2, newly submitted policies must come through the Amazon Insurance Accelerator. A compliant third-party policy submitted before that date stays valid until it expires, but at renewal the seller must use the Accelerator.
DO THIS NOW Check every ASIN against Amazon's enhanced-safety category list and upload your certificate of insurance. Listings in these categories may be deactivated until compliant documents are accepted. Our Amazon seller insurance cost guide walks through what a compliant certificate must include and the most common rejection reasons.

Amazon Built Multipacks for You. Review Them by November 10.

DEADLINE

November 10

IMPACT

Medium

APPLIES TO

Selected FBA brand owners

WHAT CHANGED Amazon is creating virtual multipack listings for some FBA brand-owned products with strong demand for multi-unit purchases. A virtual multipack sells several units of an existing single-pack product as one offer, fulfilled from your existing single-pack inventory. November 10 is the prelaunch review deadline. Every multipack you haven't deleted goes on sale November 11.
WHO IT AFFECTS Brand owners whose products Amazon selected. Amazon allows edits and deletions after launch too, but a multipack deleted during the pilot may not be recoverable.
DO THIS NOW In Manage All Inventory, filter for "VMP_", then use "Edit virtual multipack" to change price, title or description. Check the margin before anything else. Multipacks start at the current per-unit list price. There's no separate program fee, but standard fulfillment fees apply per underlying unit, so a two-pack incurs two single-unit fulfillment fees.

New Referral Fee Category for 3D Printers on October 31

APPLIES TO

Notified sellers

WHAT CHANGED Amazon introduced a separate 3D Printers referral fee category effective October 31, 2026. These products were previously grouped under Business, Industrial and Scientific Supplies. Amazon also audits ASINs continually and moves some into different fee categories. Your fee category can differ from the category shoppers see in the store, so a reassignment can change an ASIN's referral fee even when the listing looks the same.
WHO IT AFFECTS 3D printer sellers, plus any seller who received a reassignment notice. Don't assume your ASINs moved; check them.
DO THIS NOW Open the Fee Preview report and compare each ASIN's referral fee before and after October 31. If a classification looks wrong, use Amazon's dispute process. Include the ASIN, the old and new fee categories, the relevant product attributes, and the fee-category guidance that supports your case.

Holiday Peak Fees Run Through January 14, 2027

APPLIES TO

FBA, Remote Fulfillment, MCF, Buy with Prime

WHAT CHANGED Amazon's 2026 holiday peak fulfillment fees apply from October 15, 2026, through January 14, 2027. The increase averages $0.32 per unit above non-peak rates, though the real amount depends on size and weight. Amazon's separate 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge is charged on top of the peak fees.
WHO IT AFFECTS Sellers using FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime. Low-price items and deal ASINs feel it most.
DO THIS NOW Recalculate every Q4 promotion using the peak fulfillment rate plus the surcharge. Check SKU-level costs in Amazon's Revenue Calculator, Profit Analytics or the Fee and Economics Preview report before you finalize deal pricing.

Prepaid Return Labels Become Mandatory for FBM on December 18

DEADLINE

December 18

IMPACT

High

APPLIES TO

US seller-fulfilled orders

WHAT CHANGED From December 18, 2026, all US returns on seller-fulfilled orders, except heavy and bulky items, require a prepaid return label. You have seven calendar days from the return request to upload or authorize a prepaid label, or to issue a full refund without asking for the item back.
WHO IT AFFECTS US FBM sellers in the middle of holiday return season. The label must go through the Manage Seller-Fulfilled Returns workflow. A label sent only through Buyer-Seller Messaging doesn't meet the requirement. If you miss the seven days, Amazon can refund the buyer automatically and deduct the cost from your account.
DO THIS NOW Set up prepaid return labels in Manage Seller-Fulfilled Returns before December 18, and give one person the job of watching the seven-day clock. "Prepaid" doesn't automatically mean you pay: Amazon assigns the shipping cost by return reason.

Review Requests: Amazon Introduces Paid Review Invitations

Eligible US advertisers

WHAT CHANGED Amazon Ads announced Review Requests on September 29, 2026. The ad invites verified purchasers to leave a rating or review while they shop on Amazon. Eligible products must have fewer than 1,000 total ratings and reviews. Campaigns are managed in Amazon Ads Agent or through its Unified API.
WHO IT AFFECTS Eligible US sellers and vendors whose advertising accounts are in good standing. Amazon's own announcements give both late October and November for the open beta, so check that the feature appears in your account before planning around it.
DO THIS NOW If you're eligible, start by recording your current reviews per week, ad spend and cost per additional review. In an early closed beta (June 3 to 21, 2026), Amazon reported about three times as many weekly ratings and reviews. That's internal test data, not a forecast for your campaigns or a guaranteed result.

Where you can, compare similar products with and without Review Requests to see whether paid invitations add reviews you wouldn't get anyway.

US stores (plugin beta)

WHAT CHANGED At Amazon Accelerate on September 23, Amazon added persistent memory and always-on workflows to Seller Assistant. It also launched a Selling Partner plugin that connects listing data, performance metrics, inventory levels and sales analytics to outside AI tools, starting with Amazon Quick and Anthropic's Claude.
WHO IT AFFECTS The plugin is in beta for sellers in Amazon's US stores. Separately, eligible primary account holders worldwide can sign up for a free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription through December 31, 2026, and can add two coworkers to the offer. Availability and supported actions differ by integration.
DO THIS NOW Try it for reporting first. Before you let any tool change pricing, listings or inventory, review its permissions and approval settings, and decide who on your team approves account changes.

Still in Effect: Rules You Can't Ignore

75-character titles

Amazon's AI-generated title recommendations for non-compliant listings keep rolling out through 2026, and brand owners get 14 days to review each one. If your top ASINs still have titles over 75 characters, read our Amazon product title requirements guide. It explains how to split product information between the Item name and Item Highlights before Amazon makes that choice for you.

Business-hour delivery for Amazon Business

Since September 30, 2026, sellers must keep a Business Hour Delivery Rate of at least 90%, measured over a rolling 14-day period, for applicable seller-fulfilled Amazon Business shipments. Sellers who were warned about poor performance and didn't improve by October 30 may have their seller-fulfilled Amazon Business offers deactivated. FBA eligibility isn't affected. Check the metric in Account Health.

The CMO Take: What November Really Means for Brands

Each of these changes is manageable alone. The danger is that they all land at once. In a single month, a brand can face a fee category change, an unreviewed multipack priced at the default, an insurance gap on one old supplement ASIN, and two surcharges on every deal unit. None of these shows up as an emergency in Seller Central. Each one quietly cuts margin or takes a listing offline during the most important selling weeks of the year.

The brands that do well in Q4 aren't the ones reading the most news. They're the ones who give each change an owner and a deadline.

Use the calendar above as that checklist, and see how we handle it in Amazon listing optimization, Amazon brand protection and Amazon PPC management.

Amazon Seller News FAQ

Q What changed on Amazon this month?

The main November changes are the $1 million liability insurance requirement for enhanced-safety categories (November 2) and virtual multipacks going on sale after a November 10 review deadline. On October 31, Amazon also added a new 3D Printers referral fee category, and holiday peak fees plus the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge apply through January 14, 2027. Prepaid FBM return labels follow on December 18.

Q Are there new Amazon seller fees this month?

There's no new fee type, but holiday peak fulfillment fees and the separate fuel and logistics surcharge are in effect, and 3D printers now have their own referral fee category. Check your Fee Preview report for any reassigned ASINs.

Q Is FBA still profitable in 2026?

For most brands, yes, but only if you do the fee math SKU by SKU. Peak fees, surcharges and fee category changes can make a product that was profitable in September lose money on a November deal, with no change to the listing.

Q What is going on with Amazon right now?

Amazon is shifting more responsibility to sellers, through insurance, return-label and delivery-rate rules. At the same time, it's adding AI tools that automate more of the work, from Seller Assistant to AI-generated title recommendations and auto-created multipacks.
